  Yes, it is possible. The nicked or torn contact lenses can lead to eye scratches. Scratches on the surface of the eye are called corneal abrasions. The cornea is the outer most layer of the eye and can become irritated by small scratches. It may cause vision problems and severe pain on the surface of the eye when touched by the air or a contact lens. In order to prevent this condition, contact wearers have to check the lenses before inserting. They can take lenses to the bright light to see whether there is any torn or nicked part on it. At the same time, you have to wash your hands to avoid foreign objects enter your eyes to cause scratch.

  Yes, it is possible for the contact lenses to scratch your eyes if the contact lenses are used too much. If you wear the contact lenses for more than 8 hours, your eyes will feel dry. If you always do this, it is possibly for the eyes to get scratched because of the lack of water. At the same time, your eyes will not get the enough breathe through the surface of the lenses of the contact lenses. Wearing the contact lenses for a long time everyday is such a dangerous thing. You should keep notice of it. Although you like to wear them, you'd better wear them less than 8 hours a day. Or else, the dryness in the eyes may get hurt for your corneal.

  If you wear too much contact lenses, it can really scratch your eyes. It is necessary for you to do somethings to avoid it. The first thing you should do is decrease the time of wearing contact lenses; Secondly, you must choose the suitable contact lenses; Finally, you should avoid of improper sterilization and leaving a lens in for too long.
