Can rubbing your eyes cause swelling?

I feel itching in my eyes. I rub it and my eyes appear swelling. Can rubbing your eyes cause swelling?

    Rubbing your eyes can actually cause sweling. If you rub eyes frequently, the eyeballs are under pressure which will suffer pain and the eye muscles around the eyes will get intensified, thus you will feel itching. If you do not stop rubbing, the eyes surrounding parts will get swelling. So, you'd better not rub the eyesyes.

And your eyes may get high possibility to get the eyes infection. That is why you get the eye swelling. You'd better not rub your eyes any more. And you could use some eye drops to release the symptom of eyes which will clear the inflammation. In addition, you should keep notice of the diet and not eat the spicy food during this time. And you'd better not drink too much water before the sleep which may cause the swelling eyes to get serious. If they are not released after a period, you may go to the hospital to have a check.

    Yes, it could cause that. A swelling eye means the eye seems like puffy that can be caused by different reasons. One common reason for causing it is allergy. Both inside and outside allergies can cause the eyes to swell, especially rubbing your eyes after touching other objects without washing hands. There is a highly possibility for the invisible bacteria and virus can enter your eyes via this way. Although this kind of eye allergy is not contagious, but the bacteria or virus is easily spread. Hence, you should avoid rubbing or touching your eyes if your hands are unclean.
