  Actually the detached retina will not cause the nausea. However, it is seen that many people get the symptom of nausea after some types of surgery. It may be caused by the change of the physique. As we know, the detached retina will be easily happened among the people with high prescription. Usually the strong beat on the head parts or the eye surrounding parts will cause the retina detachment. After the surgery, you need to protect the eyes on special attention. You should not eat the spicy food and drink which may hurt the eye nerves through the blood vessels. And you get the nausea after the surgery of the detached retina, you are appropriate to travel a lot which will cause dizzy at eye sights on the transportation tools.

  Yes, a detached retina can cause nausea. People with detached retina have a symptom of flashes of light. These flashes usually last for 10 to 20 minutes and usually accompany with headache, followed by nausea, vomiting and significant sensitivity to light. When there is a blockage of blood flow in the main artery, the retina dies without nourishment, and then you get detached retina. If this happens, you should see a medical doctor and have an examination as well blood test.

  The retina is a thin sheet, made of light-sensitive nerve tissue and blood vessels that lines the back of the eye. The sensory layer of the retina receives images and sends them to the brain. This layer can be pulled away (detached) from its normal position. This will result in a loss of vision. They are often associated with headache, nausea, or dizziness.
