  Aviator sunglasses, or "pilot's glasses", were originally developed in 1936 by Ray-Ban for pilots to protect their eyes while flying. Aviators were given their name due to their original intention of protecting aviator's eyes. Ray-Ban began selling the glasses to the public a year after they were developed. You see now? It is not advocated by an individual but a famous eyewear brand called Ray- Ban. There sunglasses are quite popular all over the world, hope this helps you.

  Twenty years ago, the aviator sunglasses firstly popularized. People were so infatuated with it because of a film. Tom Cruise, as the hero of that film and wearing the aviator sunglasses, has become the idol of thousands of women. People regarded him as the fashionable trend.
