No, the dry eyes can't be hereditary. If your eyes feel dry, there must be the reasons. For example, the inner body lacks the water. You should eat more food with vitamin C to moisture the eyes. Or you sit in front of the computers for a long time every day which may get your eyes dry. You could use the eye drops to release the symptom.

Yes, you should know that dry eyes can be hereditary. So maybe your situation can be this one. Generally speaking, you should know that if you do not have the necessary balance of these three layers in your eyes, or if your eyes do not make enough tears to coat the eye, you may have a condition, which is known as dry eye. But on the other hand, there are also some other cases you should know too. As we know that potential causes for dry eye include hereditary, immune-mediated, drug-induced, surgically induced, or chronic allergic eyelid disease. So dry eyes can be hereditary. To treat dry eyes like you, it can be difficult. But in my opinion, you can just take some foods which are rich in vitamin a. Vitamin a is good for the dry eyes. Or you should see an eye doctor. Besides, there are other less common causes including the distemper virus, radiation therapy around the eye, aging, nerve palsy or trauma.
