A corneal ulcer is an open sore on the cornea, the thin clear structure overlying the iris, which is the colored part of the eye. When you have a corneal ulcer, you would have red eye with severe pain. And you would feel something is in your eyes, and you have tears more frequently, that is to say, you would have watery eyes. On the other side, you could see objects in a unclear way, or say, you have blurry vision. And your eyes are more sensitive to bright lights because of pain. Meanwhile, you may have swollen eyelids. What is more, you would have a white round spot on the cornea that is visible with the naked eye if the ulcer is very large.
