Are progressive glasses lenses worth the money?

You know, progressive lenses are more expensive than bifocal lenses and even more expensive than regular lenses. Is it worthy to spend more money for buying progressive lenses ?

Compared with the bifocal lenses and the regular lenses, the price of progressive lenses is relatively higher. However, the role of progressive eyeglasses is so great that we can base on our needs to see through the lenses which will be helpful for our vision in a long time. Thus, it is worthy to spend more money for buying such type of good eyeglasses.

My friend recommend me buy progressive eyeglasses lenses. He said it is more convenient than carrying two or more pairs of eyeglasses at a time. But when i search online, i find progressive eyeglasses lenses are more expensive than other regular glasses lenses. So, i wonder if progressive lenses are worthy the money. What's your opinion?
