At what age did you start needing reading glasses?

How did you first start noticing that you needed reading glasses? And did glasses from 99 cent store work until it got worse? I am in my 30s so I am getting nervous about it.

I am 23 and don't need reading glasses . But my father started using reading glasses few years ago (about 45). He could not see the small texts on newspaper . It is also impossible for him to thread a needle. And often get frequent headaches, eyestrain or eye fatigue while reading. I don't have shopping experience from 99 cent store and unable to know the quality of their glasses . Generally glasses can still work without any big problems unless your prescription change .

The people who have presbyopia may need a pair of reading glasses. To most people, presbyopia often happens after they pass age 40. There are some starting signs that can suggest that you may need a pair of reading glasses. If you often hold your book at an arm's distance to view them or you suffer from blur vision, you may need to have your eyesight checked immediately.

I have myopia. I don't need reading glasses. But my father has presbyopia. He had his first pair of reading glasses when he was 48 years old. I heard that presbyopia often happens among people who are beyond 40 years old.

You'd better have your eyesight checked first. Then you can get a prescription. You can order prescription glasses with your prescription. If you care about the quality of your glasses, you'd better not buy glasses from 99 cent store. I think some cheap glasses are of poor quality. Though presbyopia often happens among people who are older than 40 years old, it can happen to any people at any age in some rare cases. Doctors can diagnose your vision problems and give you appropriate prescription to help correct your vision problem.
