Does alcohol cause dry eye?

  Definitely yes, it can cause dry eyes. Alcohol is a dehydrating substance that would have dehydrating effect on your body, including dry your eyes. There are a lot of small blood vessels under the eyes, and there are a lot of blood cells with oxygen pass eyes to make it breathe. When you always drink alcohol or take too much alcohol once, it would dramatically reduce the amount of blood cells pass our eyes as well as oxygen.

  Well, generally speaking, dry eye can not be caused by alcohol. As we know that, when you have too much drink, it will irritate the nerve system and even make the blood pressure higher. In this way, the blood will flow to the eyes and make the bloodshot to eyes. But on the other hand, there is nothing to do with dry eyes. While, you should also know that alcohol consumption and smoking are not particularly helpful for a person suffering from dry eyes. Anyway, Don not drinks too much. It will not only do harm to your eyes, but also make your body worse.

  What your girl friend told you is right. The alcohol contains a lot of irritating materials which may stimulate your eyes, especially the nerves around the eyes. If you drink too much, the alcohol may make you have dehydration because of the effumability. Thus, you'd better not drink too much next time. And now you should have the good rest.
