  We always need to take off the contacts during sleep, because they will probably block the flow of oxygen to our cornea if we sleep in them the whole night. Extended wear contact is such kind of contact that made of extra-permeable silicone hydrogel materials which tends to allow oxygen deprivation. SO, the best advantage of extended contacts is to allow people wear them for several days without taking it off. But, we need to pay attention to the risk of infection since we cannot clean the lenses everyday, because of that, we must try to avoid dusty rooms and never wear the contacts longer than the doctor recommends.

However, it is dangerous to wear the contact lenses when sleeping because the corneal needs the oxygen. In addition, wearing contact lenses too long may get more possibility for the eyes to get infection. Thus, it is better not wear them during sleeping.
