Is it bad to use lubricating eye drops everyday?

I've been using lubricating eye drops for about 6 months now because my eyes always feel dry. But my friend told me it is bad for my eyes. Is that true?

At one time, i often use eye drops everyday, but i think it is noting to help releases my eyes ( i am not dry eye ). But i saw that most of people with dry eyes treat their eyes with eye drops. So, i can't see eye drops is bad for dry eyes. But eye drops can not cure dry eyes, they just temporarily moist your eyes. In fact, i heard that use eye drops can increase the speed of evaporation of the water in eyes, thus make your eyes more dry.

That depends on the brand of the eye drops and what they're used for. Besides, Most of eye drops contain preservative. Long-term abuse of eye drops will damage the cornea and conjunctiva. If you use lubricating eye drops everyday, your eyes may get infection. Long-term use of lubricating eye drops will cause dry eyes. Therefore you'd better take your eye drops to your doctor and talk to him. You should follow your doctor's instructions to use lubricating eye drops.

Lubricating eye drops should be ok, but please do not drop too much. If you overuse, it may become harmful for your eyes. Some people have got used to it and Dependence on using the eye drops occurred. Normally all of the eye drops more or less are with side effect. Seldom using it will help to smooth and comfort your eyes, but overusing them will certainly become harmful to your eyes.
