Laik surgery can be used to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. That depends on the condition of your cornea. Your cornea must be thick enough to be reshaped. If you are nearsighted, the surgeon will use laser to cut the central cornea to make it flattened. While if you are farsighted, the surgeon will use the laser to make the cornea steepened. So you should talk to your surgeon about whether you can have surgery to correct both nearsighted and farsighted.

Yes, lasik surgery can correct nearsightedness and farsightedness. But there are also limits to take asik surgery. In details, When use lasik surgery to treat nearsightedness, the central cornea is flattened using the laser so as to weak its focusing power. But when it used to treat farsightedness, the laser pulses are applied to the periphery of the cornea for steepening the cornea. That is to say, no matter you have nearsightedness or farsightedness, you can take lasik surgery to treat your eyes.
