Can I get blind if I have glaucoma?

I was diagnosed as glaucoma, will I get blind? I am so afraid.

    If glaucoma is detected early, you won't go blind. If your high pressure is out of control, then you may go blind. Most people with glaucoma can hardly go blind. So don't worry.

    No. Glaucoma will not cause blindness necessarily. Most glaucoma can be cured by surgery or medication if it is detected in quite early state. My mother had just gone through glaucoma surgery and now she has really good vision.
