Is it true that reading in poor light can damage your eyes?

    "Put the light on, you'll damage your eyes!" We all must have heard it from our moms. But there's no need to worry – reading in the dark doesn't damage your eyes at all. However, if you need reading glasses, you should wear them.

    Scientists still argue about this issue today: reading in poor light damages your eyes. But currently there is no evidence at all to suggest that reading in poor light damages your eyes.

    I suppose the answer is yes cause my eyes will become very uncomfortable if I read in poor light. They will do the same if the light is too bright. Thus I think soft light should be the best.
