I do believe the most important and convenient way is to keep your hands clean since you’ll use them to put contacts into your eyes. If you hands are not clean enough, there may be possibility for eye inflection.
Well, you should keep your nails short to keep from scratching or harming your eyes while taking out your contacts. And do not wear contact lenses while swimming or if you go into a hot tub.
I would recommend you see your eye doctor every year for an eye exam. It’s better to bring your contacts with you. Your eye specialist will help check and see if you’ll need a new prescription or lens.
