Can you have prescription lenses put into frames from reading glasses?

Reading glasses (like you would get at the drug store) are very inexpensive; are they suitable for prescription lenses? Or are they too cheap/thin, and not well-made enough for everyday use? Has anyone out there ever had their script put into reading frames? I assume the lenses would not work if they are on the thick side.

It is better not to do that .Because the frames of inexpensive reading glasses are usually not made properly for optical lens insertion.they can't last long for everyday use . Also you want to pay extra money for prescription lenses if the frame break again. So don't be mean with your eyeglasses frame . Just spend the money on an appropriate optical frame!
