Pink eyes, also known as conjunctivitis, is the inflammation of the thin, clear covering eyelids. It is really uncomfortable and painful. In fact, the most noticeable sign of pink eyes is the reddish color of the eyes, which is caused by inflammation of the conjunctiva. Futhermore, feel of irritation and itchiness are the signals of pink eyes. Tearing and eye floaters are also prevalent symptom, because the eyes naturally produce tears so as to relieve the discomfort. In general, according to the reasons that lead to pink eyes, it can be classified by three types. The first one is viral conjunctivitis which is caused by a virus. This type of pink eye is highly contagious. But it can heal by its own for several days without medical treatment. The second type is bacterial conjunctivitis which is caused by bacteria. As for this type of conjunctivitis, you had better go to see a doctor and get treatment quickly. The third type is allergic conjunctivitis which is caused by eye irritants such as pollen, dust and nimal. The incubation period for pink eye is depending on the reason. If it is infected by the virus or bacterium, symptoms do not begin immediately. For a viral infection, the incubation period is generally 12 hours to three days. If it is caused by a bacterial infection, the incubation generally start one to three days after transmission.

Usually the incubation time of the pink eyes is just about 3 or 4 days, less than a week. Your eyes will become red with the visual vessels. Once you get the pink eyes, your eyes will feel itchy and not comfortable. You want to use your hands to rub them. You should better not do this which will make the situation get worse. You could just use the eye drops with anti-inflammation to clear the eyes and release the symptom.

Generally speaking, the incubation period of pink eyes is five to seven days. There are mainly three symptoms of pink eyes. First of all, people who get pink eyes will also get swelling eyelids and conjunctiva becaused of the infection. To reducint the swelling eyes, people can apply cold and clean towel or waterbags to your closed eyes. The second symptom of pink eyes is the plenty of muco-purulent secretion coming out from the eyes. People with pink eyes can use physiological saline or tepid boiled water to wash clean their eyes three to four times a day. The third symptom of pink eyes is the feeling of itchy eyes and foreign objects. In this case, people can apply 0.25% chloramphenicol or some other guttae sulface into their eyes every other hour. At the same time, they can also use some anti-inflammatory oculentum before they go to the bed. And remember not to cover or wrap eyes when getting pink eyes, because the covered eyes get higher temperature which will make it easy for the germs in the eyes to grow and multiply and the eye secretion cannot come out.
