Glaucoma is often associated with a buildup of pressure inside the eye which is called intraocular pressure that can damage the optic nerve. If damage to the optic nerve from high eye pressure continues, glaucoma will cause permanent loss of vision. Glaucoma tends to be inherited and may not show up until later in life. There are many symptoms of glaucoma such as seeing halos around lights, getting vision loss, seeing redness in the eyes, eyes that looks hazy which happens particularly in infants, nausea or vomiting, pain in the eye, narrowing of vision, i.e., tunnel vision.
