What is the difference of monthly contacts lenses and continuous wear contact lenses?

I am on a trial for monthly day contact lenses at the moment, but the optician has told me to only use them at a max of 12hrs per day because the eyes need oxygen. So if I want to use continuous wear ones, wouldn't them be bad for your eyes?

do you mean the day&night contacts by continuous contacts ? The continuous contacts have better air permeability than monthly contacts .they are popular among busy workers . But if you have dry eye syndrome, it is not advisable for you to wear them cuz as you know the eyes need oxygen and they would cause the dry eyes more serious .
