Does eye color affect a person's ability to distinguish colors?

  No, eye color doesn't affect the vision of someone or the color sensation. People with different eye color see things exactly the same, no matter size, color or shape. Eye color is decided by the amount of melanin in iris of the person. While ability to see colors is decided by the rods and cones in our retina.

  People with different color of eyes will see things in the same color, having the same vision. It will not affect their ability to distinguish colors. The color of eyes is just determined by the genetic genes which will change easily. About the vision, it is related about the eye sight. Usually the brown or dark blue color of the eyes is beautiful and charming.

  In the world, the colors of the eyes include brown, hazel, amber, yellow, green, gray, blue and black. In fact, the color of the eyes is a polygenic inheritance feature and by type and quantity of pigment in the eye iris, decided the initial color. So, people with different eye color can see things in the same color, or, in other words, eye color can never affect their ability to distinguish colors.
