Is it normal for a newborn to have crusty eyes?

I noticed that a newborn baby have crusty eyes. Is this normal? or it is a sign of eye diseases? Any suggestion?

    It is not normal for the newborn baby to have crusty eyes which may be the sign of the eyes diseases. He should be suggested to go to hospital to have a full check on the eyes to see whether there is the problem at the eyes. About the diet and lifestyle, he should be received high attention.

    Actually, crusty eyes is a symptom of eye diseases, but not a real diseases. It is normal for a newborn baby to have crusty eyes though the system of eyes are still not developed completely. You can use warm washcloth to clean the corner of your baby eyes twice a day to prevent further infection from bacteria. And observe your baby condition frequently to avoid being cold and allergies by something else.
