Astigmatism blurrs the vision so that you have to make it harder to see better, which could lead to eye strain. Astigmatism refers to a refractive error that the curvature of cornea is not even. For parallel light at 5 metres away can't get focused at the same point. With multiple focuses, the vision becomes blurred. For people with astigmatism, it blurrs the vision up-close as well as at distance. It makes people very easy to get eye strain. It is very possible for people with astigmatism to have headache, watery eyes and nausea. It is better to visit an eye specialist or optometrist to prescribe a new glasses for you to avoid its further development.

Actually, eye strain is hard to be caused by astigmatism. But it still has possible to cause astigmatism. We have known that astigmatism just because of the inability of the optics of the eye to focus a point object into a sharp focused image on the retina. It is an optical defect in which vision is blurred. Astigmatism has two types of astigmatism are regular and irregular. Blurry vision, squinting, asthenopia, fatigue, and headaches are the most common symptoms. Eye strain is rarely to be caused by astigmatism. It is most commonly due to computer use, driving, reading, watching television and softball. Some personal factors also causes of eye strain, such as poor and uncorrected vision, tiredness, fatigue, stress and alcohol and drug use. Astigmatism may cause eye strain because it can lead to poor vision and blurry vision. While poor sight and blurry vision is the most common cause of eye strain. That’s the big reason.
