Sinus infection can spread through anastomosing veins or by direct extension to close structures. Sinusitis or rhinosinusitis is inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, which may be due to infection, allergy, orautoimmune issues. Allergies, structural abnormalities, such as a deviated septum, small sinus ostia or aconcha bullosa and nasal polyps are all causes of sinus infection. The side effects of sinus infection are commonly headache or pressure in the eyes, nose, cough and cloudy, discolored nasal drainage. It rarely can cause goopy eyes.
